Why are follow-ups paused for a prospect?

In RentEngine, nurturing messages (the automated “nudges”) run only for certain statuses. If a prospect is in a status that suppresses nurturing, follow-ups pause by design.

Common reasons follow-ups are paused

  • Showing Scheduled

Only transactional reminders are sent (no nurturing). After the tour, set the result (e.g., Still Deciding) to resume post-showing follow-ups.

  • Outcome/terminal statuses

Nurturing stops for: Not Interested, Withdrawn, Unit of Interest Unavailable, Duplicate Lead, Lease Signed, Move In Scheduled, Moved In.

  • Application & screening statuses

Prescreen Rejected (including ID/Credit/Income), Application Received/Approved/Rejected, Application in Owner Review pause nurturing (you may still see transactional updates).

  • Operational hold

Awaiting PM Response (PM Response) and Looking Too Early do not run nurturing.

How to easily find prospects with paused follow-ups

In the Command Center, click the filter icon in the search bar. Then:

  1. Check Show only paused followups (see screenshot).
  2. (Optional) Narrow further by Team Members, Lookback Period, or Prospect Status.
  3. Click Save.
