Overview
Virtual tours let prospects tour a unit by video call while the agent walks the property on-site.
A virtual tour is considered an accompanied showing with the Virtual tour option enabled. Because the agent is physically at the property and the prospect joins remotely by video, it uses the same agent assignment, confirmation reminders, and auto-cancel rules as an in-person tour.
How to schedule a virtual tour
Open the Command Center and select the prospect.
Click Action > Schedule showing.
Choose the Schedule Date and Schedule Time.
Check the Virtual tour checkbox.
Assign the showing to an agent under Assign showing to.
Click Schedule.
The prospect receives a video call link by text message. The agent receives the normal accompanied showing notification and calendar invite.
How the virtual showing works
At the scheduled time, the agent opens the RentEngine app, goes to the Showings Calendar, and taps Showing Details to Start Showing. This opens the video call from the property.
The prospect clicks the link they received by text to join the tour from their own device. The agent walks the unit on camera and guides the prospect through it virtually.
When finished, the agent logs the feedback and closes out the showing in the RentEngine app.
Important notes
Virtual tours are only available for regular prospect leads. The Virtual tour checkbox does not appear for agent leads.
The video room stays open for 3 hours after the scheduled start time.
The prospect joins directly from their phone or computer. No separate app is required.
Virtual showings still use the same reminder, confirmation, and auto-cancel logic as your accompanied showings since an agent is physically going to the property.
