Person Interested in Multiple Properties
In this article we'll walk through the best practices for handling people who are interested in 2 or more of your vacancies.
RentEngine uses the word "Prospect" to define a person interested in a single property
A prospect is automatically created when a person inquires for the first time about a specific property, either via an online listing site (e.g. Zillow) or via the RentEngine scheduling flow. If the prospect is already logged in RentEngine, they are not added again.
Adding New Unit of Interest
- To log a new unit that the person is interested in, open the prospect in the Command Center.
- Then click the address dropdown above the person's name and press "+ New Prospect"
- A drawer will open from the right where you'll add the new address that they're interested in
- Review and update their Source field (e.g. where they came from). The contact info is pre-filled for you
- If you've already been talking to them, check the box to skip sending them the generic new prospect message (recommended)
Managing Multiple Units
Keep your leasing process clean by regularly updating your prospects. If a person is interested in multiple units, you can switch between the leasing history for each unit.
- Find the person in your Command Center and press the dropdown above their name.
- Then click the unit of interest that you want to work on for that person
Remember, RentEngine will keep following up with a prospect if they have an active status (i.e. New, Contacted, Showing Desired, Missed Showing, Showing Canceled, Showing Failed, Still Deciding, Application Sent to Prospect)
