How to Manually Add Prospects to RentEngine
The Command Center in RentEngine is designed to automatically collect lead information from your listings, your website (via the embedded widget), or third-party listing sites.
However, there are scenarios where you might receive lead contact details outside of RentEngine—such as direct referrals, contact forms, or offline inquiries. In those cases, you can still manually add prospects to your Command Center or use our new AI email parser to send the info in directly.
Option 1: Send Lead Info via Email (AI Parser)
RentEngine offers an intelligent email parser that allows you to send contact info to your account's custom email address.
- You can find this email address by going to Command Center > Add Prospect.
Minimum recommended format:
To make sure the parser works correctly, include:
- Full name
- Address
- Phone number (this is required for tracking)
Example email:
To: leads+123456789+inmail@rentengine.io
Subject: New Lead
John Smith
160 Nw 8th St #5
Once sent, this will automatically create a new prospect in your Command Center, with the lead assigned to the appropriate team.
Option 2: Add the Prospect Manually
From the Command Center, click Add Prospect at the bottom left corner.
This will open a manual entry form. Here, you’ll need to:
- Select a property from your listings
- Enter the name, phone, and email (if available)
- Select the lead source (e.g. Referral, Website Form, Other)
- Choose whether to skip sending the automated intro message
Once submitted, the prospect will appear in your inbox and will be tracked like any other lead.
Important Notes
- Phone number is required to uniquely track and identify prospects in RentEngine.
- Use these tools to make sure no lead slips through the cracks—whether they start in RentEngine or come from another source.
