How to use Zillow Instant Tour

RentEngine is proud to be an official early partner of Zillow's new Instant Tour feature. This guide will show you how Instant Tour works and how to best enable it for your properties.

Instant Tour will automatically be turned on for all RentEngine properties since it significantly increases conversion rates without affecting your pre-screening procedures.

What is Zillow Instant Tour

Zillow Instant Tour is a new feature that allows a prospect to directly schedule a showing from Zillow. Previously a prospect would put in a request to tour and then RentEngine would reach out with a scheduling link to help them pick a time.

Now prospect can see all the available time slots directly in Zillow (in real time) and schedule their showing with one click.

How does it work

As soon as a prospect clicks the "Book tour now" button, RentEngine sends the available time slot to Zillow. Then that prospect chooses their preferred time and the showing request is submitted.

They'll immediately get a text message letting them know the showing request was received.

Depending on your pre-screening template for that property, one of two things will happen:

1. If you DO require self-reported income, self-reported credit, custom questions with yes/no rejection logic, and/or ID verification in your pre-screening, the prospect will get a text message with a link to submit their pre-screening.
2. If you DO NOT require self-reported income, self-reported credit, custom questions with yes/no rejection logic, and/or ID verification in your pre-screening, the showing will be scheduled immediately after the prospect clicks the button in Zillow

Therefore your prescreening settings will determine if an extra step is required, or if the showing will be scheduled directly from Zillow into RentEngine.
