Self-guided Showing Flow
This guide will walk you through the prospect's experience during a self-guided showing.

Upon arriving, prospects will click the link to start the showing.
If your prescreening template has location verification turned on, they will first need to allow location access. They can do this by clicking the Allow Location Access button, as shown below:

If they deny the location permissions, they'll see a guide to reset the permissions so they can proceed

Once the location access is allowed, the prospect can confirm they've arrived by clicking the orange button "I've Arrived - Start Showing":

Once they've confirmed they've arrived, they'll get the access instructions (if applicable, a digital lockbox code is generated just for them)

If they're can't open the lockbox, they press "I'm having trouble" which gives them additional tips and lets them call the leasing agent directly. If they still can't get in, they'll put the issue and mark it as showing failed. The leasing team will then get an email notification that the showing failed and the reason.

Once they're in the unit, the prospect can choose their next steps (get application, still deciding, not interested), leave feedback and lock up. RentEngine will automatically send the relevant next steps to the prospect by text message, update their prospect status and trigger the appropriate follow up sequence

If the prospect starts the showing but doesn't choose next steps or leave feedback within 2 hours, RentEngine will automatically mark the showing as complete, change prospect status to Still Deciding and trigger that follow up sequence
Important Note on PM Approval
If the setting “Require PM Approval for Showings” is enabled for this property, then showings will not be automatically confirmed. Instead, each request will remain in Pending status until it is approved by a property manager or a team member. The prospect will only receive the confirmation text once the showing has been approved. You can learn more about that feature here: Requiring Property Manager Approval for Showings.
