Transferring SentriLocks to RentEngine

This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of transferring your SentriLocks to RentEngine


  1. After signing on with RentEngine, your account rep will share the onboarding checklist which includes a place to add all your SentriLock serial numbers
  2. After submitting your onboarding checklist, you will receive an email to activate your SentriLock account. This will require a password to be built, a PIN to be established, and 3 security questions to be answered.

Once that is complete, you will need to download the "SentriKey Real Estate" app from the Apple or Android app store.



  1. Use your email as the SentriKey ID and the password you just set up above. Acknowledge the legal language and follow the prompts on the app screen. Make sure you confirm Bluetooth to be used but you can bypass Agent Safety setup, you can bypass Facial/Fingerprint ID.
  2. On the transfer date you chose, all Generation3.5/3.6 SentriLocks will need to be opened using the SentriKey app. This includes the active ones on vacancies and inactive ones at the office. This step needs to be done within 14 days of onboarding and must be complete before you can use the device in RentEngine. Follow the instructions below to open each device with the SentriKey app.


The new generation SentriGuard (black/grey) boxes should be opened via Bluetooth when convenient, but it is not necessary.



Activating and opening a lockbox with the SentriKey App


  • Enable Bluetooth on your phone
  • Open the SKRE app (note: you can give your credentials to other people on the team to download the app and complete this process for each SentriLock)
  • On the lockbox, hit the enter key
  • Keybin will open
  • Close keybin
  • End showing on app
  • Skip returning the key
  • Return to home screen on app
  • Wait for all lights on the lockbox to stop flashing before moving on to the next one
  • You can always hit Ent – Func – Ent on the lockbox (in succession) and this will put the box to sleep
  • The box will now be fully transferred over and no longer in a pending status
  • You can confirm the device has successfully transferred by generating a code in RentEngine from the Lockboxes tab


Working with many boxes in the same place like that at the same time can cause the Bluetooth paths to cross. That’s why waiting for it to go to sleep, or doing the Enter/Function/Enter option help. Likewise, it can help to close the SKRE app and reopen it when transitioning between lockboxes.
