Overview

This article explains how to connect your Igloo locks in RentEngine so you can generate access codes and manage them alongside your other lockboxes.

Igloo locks must first be set up in an IglooWorks account before they can be added to RentEngine.

Prepare your IglooWorks account

Your RentEngine account representative will create an IglooWorks account for you during onboarding.

If you already have an active IglooWorks account, give your RentEngine rep the account name and API key

Activate your Igloo Locks

  • You must have an active IglooWorks account

  • You must have the IglooWorks app (Android, iPhone) installed on your phone

  • Bluetooth must be enabled on your phone

  • You must have batteries ready to install in the Igloo lock

Note: do not use the IglooHome app or website

Step 1 — Add a property in IglooWorks

  1. Log in to the IglooWorks dashboard portal on your computer

  2. Go to the Properties tab

  3. Click the add button in the top right corner

  4. Enter the address of the property where you intend to install this lock

Step 2 — Prepare and pair the lock

  1. Insert the batteries into the Igloo lock you wish to activate

  2. Log in to the IglooWorks app on your phone.

    1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled for your app in the phone settings. The app will prompt you to do this if needed. Stand near the lock for the following steps.

  3. Tap Add new lock. Follow the on-screen prompts as described in steps 4-8

  4. Select the property you created in Step 1

  5. For the lock name, enter the serial number found on the back of the lock, underneath the QR code.

    1. Important: Do not use the serial number printed on the bottom of the lock.

  6. Select your device type (e.g. Deadbolt Go 2)

  7. Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor of the lock and hold it near your phone with Bluetooth activated

  8. Choose the device ID in blue that appears on the screen and tap it to start pairing

Note: It may take up to one minute to pair the device. Watch for the success message to indicate completion.

  4. Select IglooWorks as the lockbox type.

  5. Choose your connected IglooWorks account.

    1. If this is the first time, click "Add Account" and follow the on-screen instructions to enter the account name and API key

Troubleshooting

The lock won't pair in the IglooWorks app

  • Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your phone

  • Confirm the batteries are properly installed

  • Make sure you're holding the lock close to your phone with your finger on the fingerprint sensor

  • Allow up to one minute for the device to appear

I entered the wrong serial number

  • Make sure you're using the serial number on the back of the lock, underneath the QR code

  • Do not use the serial number printed on the bottom of the lock

  • If entered incorrectly, remove the lock in RentEngine and re-add it with the correct serial number

Best practices

  • Always use the serial number from the back of the lock (under the QR code) — not the one on the bottom

  • Pair the lock in IglooWorks before adding it to RentEngine

  • Test the lock after setup to confirm it's working with RentEngine showings

Note: This must be completed before you can connect your Igloo account to RentEngine
