Map Rent Manager custom fields (UDFs) in RentEngine

Overview

If you use User Defined Fields (UDFs) in RentManager, you can map them to RentEngine unit fields so that your custom data syncs automatically. This is useful for fields like marketing description, year built, lease duration, and any other property or unit-level data you track in RentManager.

Before you begin

Make sure your RentManager account is connected to RentEngine. If you haven't done that yet, follow the steps in How to connect Rent Manager with RentEngine first.

How to map your UDFs

  1. Go to Settings > Company

  2. Under your RentManager connection, click Map Custom Fields

  3. Click + Add Mapping

  4. In the RentManager UDF field, select the UDF you want to map — you'll see all UDFs added at the property or unit level in RentManager

  5. In the RentEngine field dropdown, select the corresponding field in RentEngine

  6. Repeat for each UDF you want to map

  7. Click Save Mappings

How it works

  • On every RentManager sync, the mapped UDF values will override the defaults in RentEngine.

  • For enum fields (fields with set options), use value mappings to translate RentManager labels into RentEngine values.

  • Mapped values are applied on the next sync after saving. Any recent manual edits you made in RentEngine to those mapped fields may be overwritten.

Need help?

If your UDFs are not appearing in the dropdown, confirm they are set up at the property or unit level in RentManager. If issues persist, reach out to our support via chat.
