Lockbox integrations in RentEngine

Overview

RentEngine automatically generates access codes for supported lockboxes and smart locks when a prospect arrives for their scheduled showing. The system sends the prospect an access link, and the code is generated when they click it.

If location verification is enabled, RentEngine will also confirm the prospect's location before releasing the code — ensuring access is only granted when they're physically at the property.

Digital lockboxes

These are physical lockboxes that hang on a door or key box and generate access codes digitally through RentEngine.

Codebox

A code is generated for each showing. The prospect enters the code, presses Enter, then presses the Codebox logo to open the keybin.

Managing inactive boxes: If a lockbox is no longer in use, move it to Inactive status in the Codebox dashboard (Manage Boxes > Inactive Lockboxes). This stops billing and prevents new codes from being generated. The box can remain connected in RentEngine, but it must be marked inactive in Codebox to stop charges.

SentriLock

SentriLock generates one code per showing. The prospect enters the code using ENT + code + ENT on the lockbox keypad.

Rently

Generates a numeric code with a default window of 2 hours before and after the scheduled showing time.

Smart deadbolts

These devices are installed directly on the door and generate PIN codes electronically. They don't require a physical key compartment.

IglooWorks

Supports one-time, hourly, and daily code types. Bluetooth is sufficient for generating PIN codes — the lock supports offline code generation. Prospects will need an internet connection to view their code through the RentEngine showing link.

  • Monthly fee: $3 per box/month

  • Bulk pricing available

  • Purchase: igloohome.co

  • Support: (888) 978-7265

TTLock

A cost-effective option with no monthly fees. Supports three code types:

  • One-time (OTP) — single use, valid within 6 hours of generation

  • Permanent — must be used at least once within 24 hours of the start time, otherwise it suspends

  • Timed — valid between a specific start and end time tied to the showing window

eRentalLock

Built with Schlage hardware. Generates a one-time code valid for the showing day.

Other supported deadbolts

  • Master Lock Vault — Generates a temporary access code with a specific validity window. Support: (800) 308-9244

  • PointCentral — Creates an access slot for the prospect tied to the showing time window. Support: (800) 457-5765

Manual lockboxes (with static codes)

If your lockbox is not digitally connected to RentEngine, you can enter a static code in the unit's access instructions. RentEngine displays that code to the prospect through their self-guided showing link. It stays active until you manually update it in the unit settings.
