Overview
RentEngine lets you create situation-based promotions promotions for rental applications.
You can create three types of discounts from the Coupon Codes section:
Time-based (after showing)
Re-engage (warm up an incomplete application)
Additional applicant discounts
Each of these can be set to auto-apply or require a coupon code.
Creating a discount
Navigate to Settings > Rental App Templates
In the Coupon Codes section, click Add Discount
Select a Discount type from the dropdown
Fill in the fields for your selected type
Save
Time-based (after showing)
Give applicants a discount for submitting their application quickly after a showing
The promo message is sent as a separate text from the standard post-showing message.
Coupon code: Enter the code applicants will use, or turn on Auto-apply (no code required) so the system applies it automatically.
Hours after completed showing: Enter how many hours after the showing the applicant has to use the discount. Durations convert to whole days (multiples of 24) once they exceed 48 hours.
Promo message (by text): Customize the text message sent at the end of the showing.
Discount amount: Enter the value and select the amount type.
Valid until: Optional. Enter an expiration date in
yyyy-mm-ddformat.
Note: This type of coupon code only applies for each applicant that submits within the designated time period after the showing. If co-applicants or co-signers later submit an application in the same group, they will not receive the discount.
Re-engage
Sends applicants a coupon code via text message if they have not submitted their application yet.
Coupon code: Enter the code, or turn on Auto-apply (no code required).
Send after (days): Enter how many days after the applicant starts the application to send the promo code.
Keep active for (days): Enter how many days the discount remains available.
Promo message (SMS): Customize the text message.
Discount amount: Enter the value and select the amount type.
Valid until: Optional. Enter an expiration date in
yyyy-mm-ddformat.
Additional applicant discount
Automatically reduces the application fee for additional applicants in the same group.
Applies starting at applicant #: Enter the applicant number where the discount begins. Entering
2applies the discount to every applicant after the primary. The primary applicant is never discounted.Discount amount: Enter the value and select the amount type.
Valid until: Optional. Enter an expiration date in
yyyy-mm-ddformat.
Notes
Discounts apply to linked co-applicants and co-signers in the same group.
Time-based promotions are evaluated for each applicant individually.
Leave the Valid until blank for open-ended discounts.
