How to use Tasks

Written by Alexander Stringfellow

Tasks are action items that RentEngine creates for your team when a prospect needs attention. You choose which situations should trigger a Task, like a missed call, a canceled showing, or an AI escalation, and RentEngine automatically creates a task so nothing falls through the cracks.

Setting Up Tasks

Only admins can configure Tasks. Head to Settings > Communication > Tasks to enable or disable specific Task types for your team.

How Tasks Appear in the Command Center

When a Task is created, the conversation gets an orange border in the Inbox and on the Board.

Open the conversation and you'll see a banner above the thread showing the type of task, which property it's about, and a Resolved button.

Resolving Tasks

A Task clears automatically when you reply or handle the action. You can also click Resolved to clear it manually. Either way, it clears for everyone on your team, not just you.

If you resolve a Task by mistake, you can undo it.

Filtering by Open Tasks

Enable "Has open task" at the top of the Command Center to filter down to only conversations with an open Task. Tasks are visible to every agent associated with that property, not just the prospect's assigned agent.

Tasks and filtering are also available in the RentEngine mobile app, so your team can stay on top of action items on the go.

Available Task Types

There are 14 types of Tasks available, with more coming soon. Six are enabled by default:

  • Unanswered messages

  • Missed calls

  • AI escalations

  • Showing approvals

  • Manual follow-up scheduled

  • Pending showing approval
