Credit, criminal, and eviction reports typically return within seconds. If a report is still pending, here's what to know.
Criminal Reports
If a criminal report is taking longer than expected, it means the applicant lived in a county that doesn't digitize its court records. In these cases, a human court runner goes to the courthouse to pull the records, which can add 1–2 business days of processing time. In rare cases, some counties may take even longer to complete the search.
This delay is caused by the county itself — not by RentEngine or TransUnion.
If the report has been pending for more than 12 hours, you'll see an option to request that the report return early. This will exclude the additional search at those counties and return a partial report. TransUnion will typically provide the partial report within a few hours.
Credit and Eviction Reports
Credit and eviction reports should return within seconds. If either has been pending for more than 5 minutes, please reach out to RentEngine support via the black chat button and we'll look into it.
