Overview
You can collect RentEngine Applications even for off-market properties. This is useful for pre-leasing, lease modifications, or keeping a pipeline of approved prospects before units come on the market.
Note: This feature requires you to complete TransUnion credentialing first.
How it works for prospects
When a prospect uses your company application link or a generic template link, they can choose "Generic Application (no specific unit)" at the start of their application.
This lets them submit an application tied to your account rather than to a single property.
You can then move or link that application to a specific unit later when one becomes available.
How to share a generic application link
You have two options:
Option 1: Share a template-specific link
Go to Settings > Rental Applications Templates.
Find the template you want to use.
Click the link icon in the Generic application link column to copy the URL.
Send that link to your prospect.
Option 2: Share your company application link
Your company application link (shared during onboarding) lets prospects pick a specific house or submit a generic application. If they choose the generic option, it automatically uses your Default Application Template.
