Overview
Open Application Period lets you set a delay between when a unit becomes available and when applicants can submit an application. Applicants can start filling out the application right away, but they cannot submit until the set number of hours has passed.
Certain municipalities like Portland, Oregon require this setting.
Configure it
Go to Settings > Rental App Templates.
Open the template you want to edit.
Select the Automation tab.
Toggle on Enable open application period.
Enter the number of hours after the unit is marked as available before applications can be submitted.
What applicants see
Applicants can fill out the full application, but when they reach the payment page before the period has opened, they see a popup:
Open Application Period
The Open Application period for this unit will start at [date and time in your local timezone]. Check back in [HH:MM:SS] to submit your application.
The popup shows a live countdown and refreshes automatically once the period opens, so the applicant can submit right away.
